Real vs. Fake Online Dating Verification: Avoid Hookup ID Scams

Is a dating site member asking you to send money for a safety dating id? There’s a 90% chance that it is a scam. Now that majority of dating apps started to require new members to verify their identity, scammers have been taking advantage of the dating verification ID demand so they are misleading people with fake dating verification methods. In this article, we will help you identify legit from fraud dating safety providers. It is very important to learn how to spot fake identity verification sites to prevent you from losing your hard-earned money on these scams. If you’re still wondering why everyone you talk to from dating sites is asking for a verification id, you can read our article regarding this topic where we explained everything about online dating verification.

We will show you real examples of what these fake IDs look like, scripts that scammers use, and fake websites. This will greatly help you in identifying scam verification sites.

Before we start, it is important for you to know that there are so many terms being used in substitute for online dating verification. Here are the most common ones we hear from complainants: Hookup ID, Meetup ID, Date ID, Dating ID, Online Dating Protector, PIV, Jumio. So next time you hear something like “that id is fake, this is the real id”, don’t believe them, they are all same “dating verification id providers”.

Fake Hookup ID Verification

It’s really easy to determine if an online dating verification provider is fake, they will ask you to send money to be able to “process” your verification id. The number one safety rule in online dating is to never send money to someone from dating apps that you haven’t met personally. The scammers will ask you to send the “ID payment” via Western Union, Money gram, or any other money remittance service.

There are hundreds of this scam that are being reported to us daily, so we advise everyone to spread the word. Once you encounter this scam, block the person immediately, and report their profile to the dating site you are using. Based on the reports we are getting, most of the scammers are based in Nigeria, Ghana, Bangladesh.

Here are samples of emails that scammers use to solicit money for the fake online dating identity verification IDs. We didn’t show the names of the scammers since we don’t know if they are using other people’s names to receive the money. Plus you don’t really need to know the names or the email address of the scammers. Here’s why, if we publish a list of the scammers’ names or email addresses, they can just use other names next time and they can just create new email addresses. You only need to know the contents of the script they are using since they are all basically the same.

Is the dating site you are using infested with bots and fake accounts? Here’s the list of dating sites we recommend where you can find real people: Best Dating Sites with Real Members

Fake Dating Verification Sites

Scam id sites are easy to spot. They don’t have their own domain name, they are using free website creators like Wix, bad grammar, they are advertising a free id but in the end you will be losing huge money when you sign up with your card.

Here’s an example of a fake Meetup ID website:

Real Hookup ID Verification

Here are the most common methods that legitimate dating sites use to verify the identity of users:

  1. Upload identity documents: You will be required to provide proof of identity documents like a driver’s license, passport, or national ID.
  2. Upgrade your account: Along with providing a valid ID, you will need to pay a verification fee of around $50 – $100. If they ask you to pay more than that, you should doubt if they are legitimate.

Dating verification sites we recommend that actually verify identity of members: datebadge.com and meetupverify.com

The bottomline is, fake ID websites only want your personal information and card details, you won’t find anything about verifying your identity on their website.

How to Avoid Dating Identity Verification Scams

Here are some effective tips to avoid possible encounters with dating verification scammers:

  1. Always do your own research before signing up or paying for a Hookup ID.
  2. Only use reputable dating sites and apps.
  3. Only chat with verified members.
  4. Only use dating sites that have profile verification features.

        1. Datebadge.com

Problem is scammers refuse to accept it, call it fake then veer you to their site, or, have a “site admin” contact you.

          1. yeah scammers will never accept legitimate dating id sites. they will insist you to buy their fake ids.

  1. This just saved me! I can’t believe I was going to fall for it. I had a hunch, but I couldn’t get it past that I wanted to meet the person. I’ve been looking and the payment places are the exact same that they wanted me to I’m sick of getting baited like this.

  2. I was scammed by three girls in NZ and would be glad to give you their names, as they are tarnishing your name by ripping innocent people off

  3. I got one im unsure if its a scam or not butnthey asking me to get verified or theyre going to charge me from $600 to $1000 if i dont

Weird thing is i didnt join any of the sites they claim to be apart of

  4. I AM NAUGHTY date site…nice chat site, BUT 99.9 of the users tell you the only ID they accept comes from THEIR LINK that are happy to send you. Most of them are Secure Hook Up Id and Casual Dating Id…..

  5. I think that I got scammed like this! I feel so stupid! 😭
I have lost £125 this way! This was a very important article. If only I had read it before committing such a big mistake!

  6. Had a woman pop up and asked me to go onto WhatsApp away from the site, she sent me lots of sexual chat and some only open up one time pics, but when it came to meet I had to get an OSA she directed me to a money transfer site called revoult and said I need to communicate with the helpdesk OVGid@ gmail.com, basically I feel she and the helpdesk were at one and I’ve lost a staggering £460 cuz she said I’d be refunded all my money, even at 350 they said 2 more sir and we can start refund process, took me a while but nothing added up,they would avoid questions I asked constantly, they even tried taking money out of revoult when I told them to do one!! Watch out she’s called Crystal Johnson apparently from Exeter

  7. Ashley Madison, so far every single chick has asked me to sign up for their verification link and they look legit like the Merit ID Protection but I have no idea if it’s real, and the Ashley Madison help desk sent me a verification link email but after I signed up it sent me to a webcam site. Is any of this legit or should I just leave the site

    1. was also my adventure today, after I refused to leave my credit card numbers there I got the following email from the “alleged admin”:

      Meetupidandhotel Provider
      15:52 (vor 35 Minuten)
      an mich

Anyone who can even begin to think logically knows that you won’t get a double room in Switzerland for CHF 50

  8. I’m getting women that want me to go to these dating verification sites they want anywhere between $500-$1000 Australian even producing some sort of daters I d I check the names they are using no record of them

    1. Yeah never send money to women you met from dating sites. Legit daters id should not cost that much.

      1. It’s too late for me i already did some verification and cost me $500. They send me different verification sites and then she said after that verification you can get the GCDP id globalcyberdatingprotection. I’m happy to give the name of the lady if someone ask.

        1. sorry it’s too late for you, but thank you for sharing the website that scammed you. at least you can share awareness to others.

  9. I was instructed to use a site called elitedalliance.com. Site does not work right but asks for credit card. Is it a scam?

  10. Thèse days I’m being contacted by the site administrator Alovia Scott of Click and flirt site, to send 350€ to get the Date ID for me to meet a girl, the girl has the same zip code as the administrator and they want me to send the money through worldremit if not they will take legal sanctions against me is that a scam ?

  11. I am being contacted by the site administrator Peter Stephenson of hookup team service, this information I got from a girl at the together2night dating site. The site admin is asking for 350€ to verify my id so I receive a safety insurance id for meetups on long term or short-term basis. If I do not verify for safety insurance id by sending money to the admin for the meetup I will be charged 5000 € or they will take legal action. They are asking for money to be sent through Moneygram, Paypal, or Western Union. Is this situation a scam?

  12. Thanks for assuring me Jeff; I was scared of ending up behind bars for not paying 1000 € for deleting my account. Even worse having to pay 5000 € or having to face legal action (behind bars). Guys avoid together 2 nights at all costs. I was scammed at their dating chatting website first by trying to pay a subscription for a dating website. Then I removed my profile since I felt it is a 100% scam as they were trying to get money from my account. Also, never verify through hookupteamservice. I did not verify or give my credit card details to avoid scams of being charged at a monthly rate when they say you would get your money back after meeting the person but it is false from terms of agreements without a business headline and requests of large amount of money through western union and moneygram or any other money remitance services. Guys, avoid at all costs together2night dating chatting site and hookupteamservice for meeting someone and find a real dating partner at your school, workplace, or authentic verified websites with a reputable record who would not request your money just to verify or scam you from unknown sources leading to freezing of your credit cards.

  13. i met a girl on loveaholics website, dont use it, they send you from site to site, that you have never heard of,then steal money from you saying you are a member of a site you have never heard of!! ,The girl i met on the original site immediatly wanted to move me onto a another chat forum in this case Google Chat ,from there she wanted to use a Hook-Up site, one in particular$450 for a room ,refund for time not used, from there charging methods, went up by thousands,i was the perfect sucker i had never used or done anything like this before, what followed was crazy,$1050 for hookup badge, and so it went, after each new charge ,they said that was the last, until it wasnt,a new charge again thousands, but was a deposit and would be returned, the girl encouraged me to keep paying,it turns out the room was over $10,ooo a deposit would be repayedof $9000 or more,i have lost over $5000 at this stage,i am embarrased and devastated,i fell for this,i have always been so careful the site is <internationalhookuproom.int@gmail.com,avoid it at all costs,it is a scam ,a rip off and a fraud.I have lost my money to these people, they have no website,no contact center, phone number, the only way to try to contact these people is through email and they dissappear dont answer emails, its a night mare. Please dont use it.

    1. thats why you need to be careful with the hookup badge sites you sign up on. there’s a lot of fake sites.

  14. Hello. Someone I met on Ashley Madison gave me instructions on how to get a “Dating Id”. Unfortunately, I wrote that info on a piece of paper and I can’t find it now. I contacted them and they send me emails from admin@ashleymadisonsupport.org To me, the .org seems strange because their website is ashleymadison.com They also sent me an example of what their dating id looks like and it has an Allstate Identity Protection logo on it. I googled Allstate Identity Protection and they are a legit company but nowhere can I find anything about them selling Dating Ids.
